By streamlining every detail, Galaxy AI ensures the only thing left to do is chill and savor the moment.

Unfolded and Uninterrupted

For those who value style and presence, the Galaxy Z Series offers a unique way to stay connected while remaining fully in the moment. The Galaxy Z Flip7, with its upgraded 4.1-inch Flex Window, lets you manage reservations or glance at messages without the distraction of unfolding.

Complementing this, the Galaxy Z Fold7 provides an expansive canvas for handling logistics or viewing shared memories in immersive detail—the ultimate lifestyle companion for those who want to see and do more together.

Samsung has also integrated advanced AI tools to ensure every "we" moment looks professional-grade. The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 200MP camera and AI ProVisual Engine master Nightography, capturing breathtaking detail even in soft, candlelit settings.

Should an unwanted element clutter a shot, Generative Edit allows for the seamless removal of distractions with a tap, while Audio Eraser ensures videos focus purely on your conversation by filtering out ambient noise.

Galaxy AI Connects Love Beyond Borders

Whether navigating a long-distance surprise or traveling on a romantic getaway trip, the dual-screen Interpreter mode on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and real-time Live Translate ensure the language of love remains universal.

These features facilitate natural, flowing conversations in real-time, allowing every heartfelt sentiment to be understood exactly as intended, regardless of the distance or language spoken. Job Application Mistakes to Avoid in 2026

As the job market becomes increasingly more competitive, job seekers are facing bigger challenges in standing out in job applications.

In the previous year, Jobstreet by SEEK reported a 179% year-on-year surge in job applications per post, indicating that a single role now receives significantly more applications than before. That's why applying smarter matters more than ever.

With the new year encouraging fresh goals and new beginnings, Jobstreet by SEEK shares tips to help you achieve a job-application glow-up, boosting your chances of getting noticed and hired by your dream company. “Hiring today values skills alignment and intention.

In this competitive labor market, we aim to assist our jobseekers not only to see many opportunities in our platform but also apply for positions more strategically, so they can land the right role,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Managing Director in the Philippines.

To stand out and avoid missed opportunities, here are the most common job application mistakes to watch out for:

Using one resume for every job

One of the most common mistakes job seekers make, especially when trying to apply quickly, is using the same resume for every job. As the hiring process becomes increasingly competitive, a single, generic resume often doesn’t work and is less likely to receive responses.

To stand out in your application, Jobstreet by SEEK encourages job seekers to tailor their resume to each role they are applying for. By customizing your resume to reflect the relevant skills and experiences required for the job, chances are the hirers will perceive that you understand the role and care about the position which advances you past the screening stage.

Additionally, your chances of hearing back from target companies increase when you incorporate the role-specific keywords they seek in the job posting and tailor them to your experience.

This simple yet strategic move also impresses employers, allowing them to see how well you fit the role and how your skills match their needs.

Skipping the job details

When browsing job advertisements online, it’s easy to skim a posting, thinking you’ve already got the gist by its title and brief description. However, overlooking other details can negatively affect your application.

To apply more effectively, job seekers are advised to carefully read the entire job posting, including the preferred skills, required portfolio or attachments, specific technical and soft skills, years of experience, and even the format or method of submission.

From there, you can evaluate whether the role aligns with your professional background and tailor your resume and cover letter to highlight relevant experience. Otherwise, it would be more strategic to focus on other opportunities that are a better match with your expertise.

Ignoring salary information

When a candidate is actively and urgently hunting for a job, they tend to submit applications to any hiring companies, hoping to be invited for interviews as soon as possible. However, what jobseekers often miss is the salary information before applying for a role.

Overlooking how compensation aligns with your experience level and industry standards can lead to unmet expectations or dissatisfaction later in the hiring process. Jobstreet by SEEK encourages job seekers to carefully review or discuss salary ranges at the onset, and prioritize roles that align with their market value.

By understanding pay expectations, job seekers can focus more on the opportunities that align with their career goals and make smarter decisions that lead to more suitable roles.

Nowadays, asking about salary and negotiating is no longer seen as “just about the money” but is considered a standard part of the hiring process allowing job seekers to advocate for themselves effectively.

With hundreds of eager applicants flocking to SM malls, the #SMJobFair series bridges jobseekers with employers from retail, services, logistics, manufacturing, and more—making career growth not just a dream, but a tangible reality.

The month kicked off with a bang at SM City Cabanatuan, coinciding with the Banatu Festival and the city’s 76th founding anniversary. Hundreds of jobseekers converged as 32 employers offered on-the-spot interviews, resulting in 90 applicants hired immediately.

The event proved how local festivities can seamlessly become platforms for livelihood, demonstrating SM Supermalls’ commitment to blending community celebration with purposeful opportunities. GR Machines deployed in SM Malls nationwide set to make recycling easy, fun, and rewarding

Your empty PET bottles have somewhere better to go than landfills—and SM is taking them there.

Through the newly-deployed Green Recycling Machines (GR Machines), SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM Prime) uses the nationwide reach of SM Supermalls to make sustainable action easy, accessible, and rewarding for mallgoers all over the country.

"The GR Machines enrich the SM Group's existing waste management efforts under the SM Green Movement," said SM Supermalls President, Steven Tan. "Through the deployment of these machines, we hope to collaborate with our customers in caring for the environment by helping recycle PET bottles whenever they enter their most loved SM Supermalls."

Each GR Machine can be operated with ease by any user and can accept PET bottles up to two liters.

Together, the GR Machines nationwide can collectively hold up to 5,000 bottles in one collection cycle which are compressed in-machine. The compressed PET blocks are then collected and given a second life by SM's hauling partner Sentinel which transforms the blocks into reusable items such as food trays.

Little makes much: Preserving the environment one diverted bottle at a time

According to the World Bank, the Philippines leaks more than 300 million metric tons of plastic waste into the sea annually—equivalent to around 9 percent of its improperly handled plastic waste. The Philippines was also noted as one of East Asia and the Pacific region's top contributors to ocean plastic pollution.

Recognizing that sustainability and protecting the environment is beyond the effort of one entity, SM has leveraged its presence nationwide through its properties to engage its customers and surrounding communities in maximizing the collection of recyclables especially plastics.

Through SM Cares, its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, SM empowers communities to adopting sustainable practices through simple and accessible ways to take part in protecting the environment. Arresting the growing issue on pollution, the SM Group has enhanced waste segregation efforts to increase its collection and diversion of plastics from the environment since 2007 with its pioneer program, the Trash to Cash recycling market.

SM Group's Trash to Cash initiative was organized by SM Cares as the pilot community program that encouraged customers to segregate recyclables like metal, paper, and plastic and exchange these for cash on a monthly basis. SM Supermalls also followed up this effort with the launch of two Reverse Vending Machines in SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall which empowered customers to segregate aluminum cans and empty PETs in exchange for discounts on sports and leisure attractions. On top of these, SM also hosts nationwide coastal clean-up drives annually through the strength and effort of its workforce volunteers.

With the latest in mobile recycling technology, SM's GR Machines encourage customers to turn good intentions into daily environmentally-conscious actions in three easy steps:

1.  Feed any PET bottle up to 2 liters into the machine

2.  Confirm your deposit by pressing the prompt on the screen

3.  Await your reward

"This is just a glimpse into how SM aims to enrich the Circular Economy through the elevated role we play in integrating seamless waste management efforts, all for Filipinos. We are hopeful that with the addition of the SM GR Machines, our continued partnership with our customers in protecting the environment yields a more sustainable future" said Tan.

Customers can start depositing their plastic bottles in SM GR Machines across the following malls: SM North EDSA, SM City San Lazaro, SM Megamall, SM The Podium, SM Aura, SM Southmall, SM Mall of Asia, S’Maison, SM Seaside City Cebu and SM Lanang.

Pursuit of a More Biker-Inclusive

Pursuit of a more biker-inclusive SM yields Record-breaking 36 wins from DOTr, Mobility Awards

When the pandemic put the country in a standstill, many of the everyday yet vital services Filipinos had access to were revoked—one of which was transportation.

The absence of public transportation due to social distancing effectively limited every household's capability to commute for essentials, and many relied on biking as their lifeline.

Recognizing the urgency in supporting its customers and surrounding communities during the challenges of the pandemic, SM Supermalls strengthened the drive for Active Mobility across all of its malls nationwide.

Since then, the mall leader has become a home and advocate for Active Mobility, remaining consistent in forging spaces that not only accommodate, but protect bikers. Because of this effort, SM has won the trust and confidence of its stakeholders in advocating for sustainable travel, culminating in a record-breaking 34-win citation at the 2025 Mobility awards.

"What began as a heartfelt initiative to support bikers during COVID, has now become an integrated bike program spanning every single SM mall in the country," said SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing, Joaquin San Agustin. "Active Mobility plays a crucial role not just in preserving the environment but in the enrichment of every Filipino. Thus, SM aims to continually foster the culture of biking across its properties by creating beloved places where movement is safe, easy, and inclusive for everyone."

Active Mobility Advances Through Coaction

Through a collaboration between its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, SM Cares, its mall operations, and biking communities, SM continues to refine itself as a bike-friendly space championing maxed-out Active Mobility, cycling, and inclusive transport.

"It started with us setting up parking spots exclusive to bikes to ease access for cyclists picking up essentials in our malls. Then when the volume of cyclists picked up even as the lockdown eased, we knew we had to do more for them," said Mina Kahn, SM Division Head and Assistant Vice President for Transportation Management.

For the mall leader, this meant improving transport access through sustainable means it could easily replicate across its properties nationwide. This involved carving out dedicated spaces equipped with essential tools to safeguard and repair bikes, protecting bikes from scratches with upcycled tires cushioning racks, the introduction of intuitive bike lanes for biker safety, and the promotion of the culture of cycling.

From there, bike-friendly features have become staples even in recent developments and renovations with plans to implement more secure bike parking, install more racks, and clearer cycling lanes around the malls.

Cycling groups also found a conducive haven for activities at SM properties. Biking events were regularly encouraged and hosted, with surrounding tenants adjusting operating hours to accommodate cyclists, further promoting biking not just as a mode of transportation but as a lifestyle and sport one could enjoy.

This in turn earned SM a total of 34 accolades at the recent Mobility Awards: One Gold, 11 Silver and 22 bronze for nationwide mall efforts in promoting and protecting cycling as a culture across its properties.

Additionally, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) cited SM's sustainable approach as a demonstration of its leadership, innovation and long-term commitment to making active transport safer and more accessible to Filipinos. Its Pedal Power 2025 program was highlighted for this year's Notable Advocacy Program and the SM Supermalls Sustainable Mobility and Bike-Friendly program received a citation for Notable Development by the Private Sector.
SM amplifies grassroots ice sports development through third hosting of SEA Trophy: Largest turn out and PH wins in three years signals growing pool of future skating champions

With the Southeast Asian (SEA) Open Short Track Speed Skating trophy's Philippine return, SM hopes the country's success at the international derby captures a crucial window of opportunity to further enrich local skating talent.

Designed as an entry-level international competition, the SEA Trophy gives young and emerging skaters the opportunity to compete, learn, and gain exposure on a friendly yet structured stage. “We are thrilled with the results of the latest season of this international competition,” said Joseph Silva, Senior Assistant Vice President for SM Skating.

“Since its inaugural run, we’ve seen steady growth in participation, and this year marks our highest turnout yet, along with the country’s strongest medal haul to date. Coupled with the surge of interest in ice sports following the Philippines’ recent SEA Games successes, we see this as a pivotal moment to spotlight the potential of our young, emerging athletes and further strengthen support for the development of their talent.”

On its third local mounting, the SEA Trophy has registered its largest volume of participants at 90 athletes ages six to 24 years old representing the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, India, and Indonesia.

The Philippines emerged with a total medal win of 12 gold, 11 silver, and 6 bronze medals. "Most of the athletes who join are starting out on their skating journeys. With this international competition, they gain more than a chance of winning medals.

They attain access to a professional arena, while competing against regional athletes exposing them to different styles of athleticism," said Nikki Cheng, President of the Philippine Skating Union. Giving young, emerging athletes a home and an arena to shine A long-time advocate of ice sports in the Philippines, SM has been home to the SEA Trophy since 2023.

Mounted by SM through its Sports and Leisure Center (SLC) and SM Skating, the competition was hosted at the Olympic-sized rink of SM Skating Mall of Asia—one of the country's most established ice sports venues. Backed by the International Skating Union (ISU) Development Commission and the Philippine Sports Commission, the SEA Trophy also serves as a development platform that ensures global participation in ice sports while encouraging skills progression, coaching exchange, and cross border-collaboration.

“Beyond providing conducive spaces for athletes to train and compete, SM recognizes that true skill development comes from exposure to international competition,” said Silva. “Events like this put everything they’ve trained for to the test, while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship, values that are honed only on the ice, alongside fellow athletes.”

Through this holistic approach, SM has given both emerging and competitive athletes a home that hones them into champions. SEA Games podium finisher Hans Buemio, started his skating journey at SM's skating rinks. He has gone on to qualify as the country’s first homegrown speed skater for the ISU Junior World Cup series and is preparing for the next competition in Utah.

Meanwhile, emerging international skating athletes have also been honed through the SEA Trophy. Chinese skater Bingzhen Dai is also a product of the tournament and has been training in SM’s Skating Rinks for the last two years. Silva hopes that with holistic support, more emerging athletes like them can come to fulfill their potential.

"With SM, our skating industry will always have a home one that provides inclusive and accessible pathways for our talents to grow and succeed. Through the 2026 SEA Trophy, we look forward to discovering our future champions and showcasing their excellence to the world.”

The year is officially underway, and it’s looking good.  2026 is already taking shape through everyday moments, familiar routines, and plans that are finally happening.

This is no quiet reset or a low-key start, it’s a hard launch to show up, step out, and strut through the year with confidence.

Across your most loved SM Supermalls, new lifestyle and fashion spaces are opening with firsts and fresh concepts that can easily fit into your routine, giving you more places to go, more things to try, and more reasons to be out and about.

Time to show off our best selves with the year ahead!

Your Upgrades That Don’t Go Unnoticed

These are the upgrades people notice without you having to point them out—how you smell, how your space feels, how put-together your everyday looks.

At Bath & Body Works at Level 2, City Center of SM North EDSA, everyday scents and self-care staples fit easily into your routine.

Not to mention, the White Barn section adds home fragrances and candles that can set the mood and instantly make any room feel nicer.

Moments You’ll Put Out There

Some moments are meant to be seen, not just saved.

At Beyond Studio, the first in SM at the Centralwalk Basement of SM City Fairview, everyday moments turn into something you can actually bring out and show. Forget just posting, here's three cheers to photos you can print, frame, and actually put out there.

Activities You’ll Show Off

These aren’t one-time trial activities. These are the ones you'll actually keep coming back too, less about being performative and more about following through, because spoilers: you'll enjoy it

Prime Golf

Show off your athletic side this 2026. At Prime Golf–the first premium golf simulator in SM at level 5 SM Podium, you can sharpen your swing on the simulator, aim for a hole-in-one, and indulge in premium dining.

Lulou Wellness

For 2026 and beyond, it's time to prioritize your health. Work up a sweat and flaunt a fitter, better you at Lulou Wellness–the first in SM, now opened at the 4th Level of SM Podium, a space designed for adults who take their routines seriously.

Happiness You’ll Put On Display

Sometimes the most practical things are the ones that keep you happy.

With the first POP MART in BGC at the 2nd Level of SM Aura, collecting is something you’ll proudly commit to, smiling over trinkets you pick, unbox, and keep out for display for everyone to see.

Hard launch complete. From here on out, it’s about stepping into what works for you and letting it be seen.

As new spaces continue to open across SM Supermalls, it stays part of everyday life where errands, plans, and in-between moments already happen. There is always something new to walk into, try out, and make part of your routine.

Get Your 2026 Craving Non-Negotiables

For the new year, let’s raise the standards.

This is the year you stop making compromises when it comes to your cravings. No rushed decisions. No “this is good enough.” And more importantly, no more meals that feel like an afterthought.

SM Supermalls is starting the year by bringing in new dining spots that can transport you to a new era full of fresher concepts, bolder flavors, and better choices. Proving time and time again why it deserves to be your most beloved mall with spots that raise expectations, break routines, and make eating out feel fun again.

So before your calendar fills up with plan after plan, consider this your ultimate craving promise: to never negotiate when it comes to where and how you eat. Because if there’s one thing we’re not bringing into the year, it’s settling.

NON-NEGOTIABLE 1: Snacks Shouldn't Feel Like A Placeholder

Snacking isn’t something you do just to get by–it’s something you do because you actually want to eat. This year, snacks have to show up with flavor, personality, and zero shortcuts. Whether it’s something cheesy, crispy, or straight-up addictive, quick bites should still feel worth the stop.

Pizza Planet

Prepare to blast off into a galaxy of flavors at Pizza Planet, located at the Annex, Upper Ground Level of SM North EDSA. When the craving hits, cheesy and gooey is the only right answer–and this fun, playful spot delivers every time. It’s your sure fix for comfort food done right, serving an out-of-this-world experience for kids, kids at heart, and anyone who takes their pizza seriously.

Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks

From Taiwan’s streets straight to your plate–Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks at the Foodcourt, SM City Fairview serves crispy, juicy hits you won’t want to miss. XXL Chicken, Handmade Oyster Mee Sua, and all the bold flavors.

NON-NEGOTIABLE 2: All-in Should Mean Actually Going ALL In

All-you-can-eat only works when it actually delivers. No half-hearted spreads. No playing it safe. This year, if you’re committing to unlimited, it has to feel generous, intentional, and satisfying from the first plate to the last.

King’s Feast Luxury Buffet by Buffet 101

Feast like royalty at King’s Feast Luxury Buffet by Buffet 101, soon to open at the 5th Level of The Block at SM North EDSA. This luxurious all-you-can-eat experience features mouthwatering local and international flavors that never skimp on quality or taste, promising a truly decadent dining adventure fit for kings and queens.

Mo-Mo Paradise

Say “more, more!” to good food at Mo-Mo Paradise–the first in PH at the Level 3, Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall. When the plan is unlimited hot pot, this is the place you go straight to. Slow-simmered shabu-shabu and sukiyaki set the standard for sharing, slurping, and lingering over a proper meal.

NON-NEGOTIABLE 3: Bold Flavors Are Not Optional

This is the year we stop dialing it down. Big flavors, strong profiles, and dishes that don’t hold back—because great meals should leave an impression. If you’re craving something with heat, depth, or attitude, subtle isn’t part of the plan.

Siklab+

For local flavors with a twist you won’t want to miss, head on over to Siklab+ at the ground level of S Maison. This is the kind of place that resets your expectations, where Paboritong Pork Sisig, Kuhol ni Tanggol, and Kalamay sa Latik become the benchmark you compare everything else to.

Thaiwadee

When the craving is Thai, you don’t experiment... you go straight to Thaiwadee, soon opening at the Foodcourt of SM Southmall. Their Pad Thai and Tom Yum Goong stay true to that mix of heat, tang, depth, and all that you’re looking for when you’re not in the mood to compromise.

Royal Indian Curry House Bistro

Satisfy your curry cravings at Royal Indian Curry House Bistro soon to open on the 5th Level of The Block at SM North EDSA. When you’re in the mood for Indian food, bold flavor and real spice aren’t optional—and this is where you go for it. From their rich Murgh Makhani to their fragrant Hyderabadi Biryani, every dish hits exactly the way it should.

NON-NEGOTIABLE 4: Eating Healthy Should Never Be Boring

Healthy doesn’t mean boring, and it definitely shouldn’t feel like a compromise.

With the first Salady in PH at the Level 5 of the Fashion Hall in SM Megamall, choosing lighter meals no longer feels like you’re missing out.

NON-NEGOTIABLE 5: Coffee Stops Should Actually Feel Like A Pause Worth Taking

Coffee isn’t just about the drink, it’s about slowing down, sitting longer than planned, and pairing it with something you’ll still think about later.

Cafe Kulture brings that energy to the Level 3, South MOA Sky of SM Mall of Asia, turning coffee and pastries into a moment, not just a routine.

The standards are set, so let your cravings do the rest. You don’t need a plan for this part, you’ll know when you’re hungry. And when your craving finally calls, your favorite SM Supermalls has already answered with more new spaces, new names, and better food options than ever.

No overthinking, no settling. Just choosing what feels right in the moment, and knowing there’s always something new waiting the next time you come back.

Celebrating National Autism Consciousness Week

SM Celebrates National Autism Consciousness Week with great strides in true inclusion

First in the country, SM Sensory Lab launch marks a new chapter in inclusive spaces built for people on the Autism spectrum

SM Supermalls enters its new era as a truly inclusive Mall for All with ground-breaking milestones launched during this year's National Autism Consciousness Week (NACW).

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, SM Cares, SM celebrated acceptance and appreciation with nationwide efforts that aimed to elevate the mall-going experience of Filipinos on the autism spectrum in accommodating spaces built to be loved.

"This year's celebration of the NACW is a great step forward for SM Supermalls as we hosted 'Lights Up, Sounds Down' (LUSD) and opened the very first 'SM Sensory Lab'--the country's only dedicated mall space for people with sensory processing challenges," said Steven Tan, SM Supermalls President. "On top of our year-long programs to uphold inclusivity across all malls, these milestones echo our ultimate desire of ensuring every single customer finds their most loved space at SM."

SM Sensory Lab: An innovation in accommodating mall spaces

Crowning the celebration was SM's launch of a ground-breaking innovative space designed to serve children and adults experiencing sensory processing challenges. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), and with the support of the Autism Society Philippines, the SM Sensory Lab was officially opened in SM Mall of Asia as the country's first-ever calming corner.

"Opening the SM Sensory Lab was a natural next step in our relentless pursuit of making our malls truly inclusive. We collaborated closely with the DSWD, NCDA and Autism Society Philippines to ensure we were making all the right considerations for something that's never been done before," said Tan.

With soft lighting, calming seating, and sensory-friendly features, the SM Sensory Lab brought accessibility into everyday mall life — showing that inclusion goes beyond awareness and is rooted in thoughtful design and lived experience.

The space was built to accommodate a total of 10 people to give persons with sensory processing challenges and their guardian enough space to feel at ease. Enhanced through the SM Malls Online App, customers who may need the space simply have to scan a QR code through the app to use the space completely free of charge.

Lights up, Sounds Down: Specialized events bringing families together

At the heart of the week’s activities was also Lights Up, Sounds Down — sensory-friendly movie screenings designed to remove common barriers that make traditional cinema settings overwhelming. In partnership with SM Cinema, the series of screenings was tailored specifically for the ease and comfort of customers on the autism spectrum.

Across selected malls, families were welcomed into theatres with adjusted lighting and reduced sound levels, creating an environment that fostered comfort, joy, and shared experience. "Something as simple as going to the cinema can be a stressful experience not just for people on the spectrum but for their families as well.

Through this effort SM intentionally enhanced an accommodating movie-going experience through SM Cinemas so people with autism and their families can finally watch a film in a movie house together," said Tan.

When SM Supermalls first hosted LUSD, the initiative was a one-mall event. Now, the effort has grown to accommodate more than 5,000 participants with their families in screenings spanning multiple malls across the Philippines.

This year, two new malls expanded the reach of the event with SM City BF Paranaque and SM City Butuan joining the network of SM Supermalls hosting their own screenings. Additionally, inclusivity measures are implemented consistently nationwide through SM Cares. Information campaigns empower empathy and greater acceptance of individuals with autism. Mall front-liners like security guards, mall tenants, and mall operations are also trained and given refresher courses on how to support customers on the spectrum.

“Being an inclusive mall isn’t just a one-week observance,” said Tan. “Our efforts for this celebration are reinforced by our strengthened resolve to continually ensure every SM Supermall in the country empowers its people and surrounding communities to be accepting, appreciative and accommodating to our customers regardless of their needs.”

SM for MSMEs

Building on strong MSME momentum in 2025, SM Supermalls is entering 2026 with a renewed and sharped focus on empowering Filipino entrepreneurs, leveraging its nationwide mall network to create tangible growth opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Through its SM for MSMEs program, SM Supermalls empowered 920 new MSMEs and start-ups in 2025, with nearly 10% successfully transitioning into regular mall tenants through kiosks, counters, or in-line stores nationwide. Since its enhanced rollout in March 2024, the program has supported 2,288 unique MSMEs, providing real-world platforms where entrepreneurs can test, refine, and scale their businesses.

In 2025 alone, 28,761 MSME booth activations were mounted nationwide, driven by a growing consumer demand for locally made, experience-led products across food and beverage, beauty, wellness, and lifestyle categories.

Honoring MSME Excellence

The annual SM for MSMEs Wall of Champions recognized outstanding MSME awardees and finalists whose businesses demonstrated exemplified resilience, innovation, and community impact—serving as a tribute to Filipino entrepreneurship and its vital role in nation-building.

“The private sector has a role to play in enabling the future growth of the MSME sector,” said Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls. “Supporting the grassroots economy is a long-term commitment we intend to uphold.”

Nation-Building Through Partnerships

From learning summits and curated markets to large scale trade fairs, SM Supermalls worked closely with key partners including the Department of Trade and Industry, Go Negosyo, media organizations, trade fair organizers, and MSME exhibitors to deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for entrepreneurs nationwide.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry, MSMEs account for 99.63% of businesses and 66.58% of total employment in the Philippines, underscoring their critical role as the backbone of the national economy.

Major 2025 highlights included the DTI National Food Fair, Negros Trade Fair, Women Strong Trade Fair by WomenBizPH, VIYLine MSME Caravan, and the Go Negosyo MSME Summit 2025, which energized the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall with mentorship sessions and business insights, highlighted by Francis Kong’s talk, “Now and Next: The Trends in Business for MSMEs.

” Expanding Opportunities Beyond Metro Manila Leveraging its nationwide footprint, SM Supermalls expanded regional trade fairs and themed marketplaces across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, bringing high-visibility platforms closer to local communities and advancing more inclusive, region-led growth.

Kicking Off 2026 With Strong MSME Partnerships

To start 2026, SM Supermalls—together with government agencies, media partners, and trade fair organizers, will host and support a new slate of MSM focused events.

  • DTI Region IV-A Coco Festival Food Fair January 14–20, 2026 | SM City San Pablo Featuring coconut-based products and local delicacies from MSMEs in Region IV-A.
  • Philstar Nakakalokal Bazaar January 16–18| SM Seaside City Cebu Showcasing homegrown food, fashion, crafts, and lifestyle brands from the Visayas and the Cordillera region, highlighting locally made MSME products.
  • The Silk Events Bazaar (upcoming) January 28–February 10, 2026 | SM La Union A curated lifestyle and artisan market offering MSMEs extended exposure in a tourism-driven destination.
As SM Supermalls moves into 2026, SM for MSMEs continues to evolve as a scalable growth platform—transforming participation into opportunity, and opportunity into sustainable enterprise for Filipino entrepreneurs nationwide.

SM Supermalls Pickleball

Through the SM Sports and Lifestyle Center (SLC), SM expands its permanent pickleball court locations to SM Center Shaw and SM Center Muntinlupa, giving the all-inclusive sport, its athletes, and enthusiasts even more venues for their next friendly or competitive matches. Because of this, SM closed 2025 with 61 court locations across the Philippines with 37 total permanent courts—the largest among mall operators.

SM empowers the thriving local pickleball scene with maxed-out sports experiences for picklers and the active lifestyle community nationwide. Through its launch of SM Active Hub, the country's largest sports playground, partnered with SM SLC's mission of revolutionizing fitness and sports engagement in the country, it encourages tournament play, friendly competition, and fun bonding moments.

"SM launched SM Active Hub in March last year with the strong intention of giving athletes, sports enthusiasts, and even casual players alike high-quality and easily accessible spaces that can house their best sports experiences—whether that's lighthearted fun or high adrenaline competition," said Joaquin San Agustin, SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing. "Closing 2025 with our largest pickleball court locations while adding two new permanent courts in SM Center Shaw and SM Center Muntinlupa in Metro Manila is evidence that sports remains not just a strong interest, but a new way of life for our customers."

Opened in partnership with Paloo, the pickleball court locations of SM Center Shaw and SM Center Muntinlupa boast three outdoor and four indoor permanent courts respectively, both intuitively designed to accommodate experienced and novice players, with accessible rates.

The Home of Elevated Sports Experiences

Through Active Hub, SM gave local picklers the ultimate spot to maximize movement and active lifestyles, meeting the athletic appetite of customers through its modular court approach. With the integration of the SM Malls Online app, players can easily sign up to be part of the community, discover upcoming events, and gain exclusive access to the best deals that maximize experiences they'll love.

"On top of the permanent courts, we also have 24 semi-permanent courts all over the country to accommodate the maximum amount of activity our customers seek,” said San Agustin.

This holistic approach has made SM the favorite go-to pickleball hangout place for customers, almost doubling the 44 courts initially constructed through the rise of interest in the sport. Also following strong demand and fully booked courts until the end of 2025, SM's upcoming thrust focuses on building more permanent courts to increase its inventory to close to 80 in 2026.

"The high volume of bookings across all our courts hints that pickleball isn't an exclusive sport—anyone can play. And because it is inclusive and easy to learn, SM saw this as an opportunity to naturally drive active lifestyles for our customers," said San Agustin.

A Favorite for Maxed-out pickleball gatherings

Active Hub caters to a wide group of picklers—from competitive enthusiasts to casual first timers looking to play or find a new and fun bonding activity with their friends, every kind of player can find an event that encourages them to keep playing.

Out-of-the-box creative concepts like the Glow Ball pickleball event giving the game a fun and exciting glow in the dark twist, while enrichment activities such as free coached Pickleball Clinics encouraged newbies and young players to try the sport out.

Active Hub is also home of the major competition SM Pickleball Super Series in partnership with Toby's Sports running alongside local tournaments and events.

It initiated the Pickleball Power Tour with Filipino-American, world-ranked pro-athlete Lauren Mercado igniting passion for the sport among the next generation of players. The event was such a massive hit that SM will be hosting a second iteration within the first half of 2026.

"This is a testament to SM's desire of hosting the most creative and commercially attuned sports events that our customers can always look forward to. As long as the Filipino desire for community and activity remains ablaze, SM is determined to continually give that passion for sports a home," said San Agustin.

SM Prime’s Green Movement

Since its launch the SM Green Movement has demonstrated the power of strategic, collective action in effectively tackling environmental challenges to achieve one goal--the protection and preservation of the planet's resources for present and future generations.

Even before the industry mandate on sustainability, SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SM Prime) recognized that meaningful sustainability can only be achieved through long-term, consistent, community driven efforts.

This understanding guided the development of programs designed to evolve alongside stakeholder priorities and shareholder responsibilities. Leveraging on the scale and reach of its nationwide network of supermalls, SM Prime embedded sustainability efforts within malls operations, actively engaging customers, tenants and communities in its environmental journey.

This "micro to macro" approach strengthened the SM Green Movement unifying efforts under a practical and scalable framework built on three core pillars of environmental action: waste management, water stewardship, energy efficiency and renewable energy.

“What began as simple actions—reducing waste, conserving water, and adopting cleaner energy—has grown into an interconnected ecosystem involving partners, tenants, employees, and millions of mallgoers nationwide,” said Joaquin San Agustin, SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing. “By turning everyday habits into systemic results, the SM Green Movement extends beyond corporate spaces and into the heart of Filipino communities.”

Focusing on three core pillars: Water, Waste, and Energy

At the core of the waste pillar, SM works closely with recycling partners and SM GUUN — the circularity platform of the SM Green Movement — to divert paper, plastics, multi-layer packaging, compostables, and other materials away from landfills and back into productive use.

SM Prime’s water stewardship is anchored in long-term water management systems and conservation practices that promote a water-resilient future. SM Supermalls pioneered water recycling in retail spaces, with early sewage treatment plants and low-flow fixtures that reduced consumption across properties.

Energy management is another cornerstone of the SM Green Movement where efficiency and renewable generation converge to reduce environmental impact while enhancing comfort and reliability in SM properties. The 100MWp celebrations in SM City North Edsa are a milestone of the program’s expansion of both climate action and everyday mall experiences.

Shared Responsibility, Lasting Impact

What unites these three pillars is the belief that sustainability thrives when communities are invited into the conversation and, when scaled collectively, can reshape systems.

For SM Prime, sustainability is not just a corporate mandate but a shared journey that requires awareness, participation, and collective action. With measurable progress, growing partnerships, and visible results across waste, water, and energy portfolios, the SM Green Movement is laying the foundation for lasting change, one where sustainability becomes part of everyday life for Filipinos and communities across the archipelago.

“The SM Green Movement reflects our vision to scale simple, everyday acts into systemic impact,” said San Agustin. “By advancing energy, water, and waste initiatives together in our malls, we safeguard communities and build a more sustainable future.”

Cyberzone Made E-Waste Disposal Easy

Good Habits Made Accessible by Cyberzone

Truly embodying the Cyberzone #TechWeLikeZoneWeLove promise, we’re continuing to make responsible tech disposal easy and accessible, right where people already are: inside SM Supermalls.

Cyberzone, in partnership with SM Cares, helps turn e-waste disposal into a simple, safer habit through dedicated drop-off points rolled out nationwide in partnership with Smart Communications and PLDT Home, beginning in June 2024.

Across participating SM Supermalls, these collection bins give mallgoers a clear, accessible place to drop off old gadgets and broken electronics that are in need of proper disposal. Instead of ending up in drawers or landfills, e-waste can be responsibly handled through a system designed for everyday convenience and better environmental discipline.

14,327 kg Properly Collected and Segregated

Since the partnership began, Cyberzone’s E-Waste Collection Drop Boxes have helped gather 14,327 kg of electronic waste across 89 SM Supermalls, 69 of which are located in the Cyberzone area. This ensures materials are properly collected and segregated for responsible handling. Serving as a reflection on the growing community habit made easier through clear drop-off points and a consistent, accessible mall experience.

“We take pride in being the go-to tech destination for shoppers,” said Patrick Pacla, Vice President for Cyberzone Operations and Marketing at SM Supermalls. “But as gadgets evolve, so does the need to dispose of old electronics responsibly. Everyone has a role to play, and Cyberzone is committed to making it simpler and safer to do the right thing, so tech does not end up harming the planet.”

SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime) continues to lead the way in sustainable property development, delivering low-carbon office spaces and climate-smart retail environments through energy efficiency initiatives, on-site renewable solutions, and strategic long-term partnerships.

From efficiency to impact

SM Prime has implemented programs such as lighting upgrades, improved air conditioning and ventilation systems (ACVS), and optimized building management systems since the 1990s —significantly reducing emissions, proving that energy efficiency delivers environmental and economic benefits. In 2024, SM Supermalls reduced electricity use by 38%, avoiding 156,736 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and saving ₱2.3 billion.

In the recently concluded 5th Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards of the Department of Energy (DOE), SM Prime’s business units, namely, SM Supermalls, SM Offices, and SM Hotels, was awarded multiple Certificates of Excellence.

This success reflects collaboration among engineering teams, service providers, tenants, and customers, driven by the company’s leadership and commitment to the SM Green Movement.

Renewable energy milestones

Guided by its goal of Net Zero by 2040, SM Prime is making decarbonization practical, reliable, and scalable. At SM City North Edsa, it recently celebrated a milestone for clean energy in the country, with 59 properties generating a combined 100 megawatts (MW) of on-site renewable energy—one of the largest solar capacities among property developers in the Philippines.

Today, more than 50% of energy use across SM Supermalls comes from renewable sources, supported by partnerships with Aboitiz Renewables, TotalEnergies, Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation, and leading solar providers. This collaborative approach empowers communities while building a safer and more sustainable future.

Working with WWF-Philippines, SM Prime has committed to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and is working towards its near and long-term targets.

Retail architecture working with nature

At the heart of SM Prime’s energy strategy is the creation of sustainable, resilient spaces that enrich experiences for the community. Across its malls, SM integrates passive design elements—high ceilings, large atriums, skylights, open spaces, and natural ventilation—reducing daytime energy consumption while offering brighter, breezier, and more welcoming spaces for relaxation, dining, and shopping.

Smart solutions such as motion-sensor escalators, solar-powered outdoor spaces, and energy-conscious cooling systems make SM Supermalls a top retail destination for tenant-partners and customers alike.

Shared climate benefits for all

“Customer expectations evolve quickly. When our leaders first initiated this project, it was in the early days of learning about the impact of our consumption on the planet. Now, brands – whether big luxury labels or small and medium enterprises – are looking for partners who invest in circularity and ESG impacts,” said SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.

As SM Prime continues to scale its energy programs, its SM Green Movement builds a resilient energy infrastructure to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for its communities.

“We are committed to making our malls as energy efficient as possible by implementing advanced technologies and best practices. SM Supermalls will keep expanding its sustainability efforts to reduce environmental impact and improve the quality of life for both the planet and the communities we serve,” said Tan.

SM Job Fairs Kick Off 2026

Beyond hiring, SM Job Fairs expanded their impact through partnerships with key government agencies, embedding skills training, digital upskilling, and on-site services directly into job fair venues—helping future-proof Filipino workers while removing barriers to employment.

Zamboanga City Opens the Year with an Exclusive Job Fair

Leading SM’s 2026 kickoff is SM City Zamboanga, set to host an exclusive Job Fair on January 16–17, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Zamboanga City Coliseum. Held in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office – Zamboanga City (PESO) and Department of Labor and Employment Region IX (DOLE IX), the two-day event will feature over 400 job openings from more than 20 employers in retail, food and beverage, customer service, operations, and support services.

With the empowering call to action—“Start strong. Find what fits. Your future begins at SM”—the job fair invites applicants to explore career opportunities aligned with their skills, passions, and long-term goals.

To ensure a smoother experience, online pre-registration is now open, with strong early interest already recorded. The upcoming job fair is expected to welcome over 5,000 applicants, with more than 4,000 registrants already signed up through PESO as of this week.
